Furious Spoon’s all-you-can-eat ramen challenge is back

Chicago ramen maestros Furious Spoon are bringing back their all-you-can-eat deal, for the entire month July. The Tokyo-style ramen shop is known as one of the city’s best, with handmade noodles and long-simmered made-from-scratch broths created by Michelin-star chef Shin Thompson.

The deal (or challenge, rather) is going down at all four of the noodle bowl chain’s locations, in Wicker Park, Logan Square, Revival Hall and Pilsen. The deal is valid from open to close, which means you can consume as much noodle soup as your heart desires at whatever time suits.

“We chose its name to educate guests on the culturally proper way to eat ramen - furiously,” says chef Shin.

Guests simply need to pay $18, which gets you a wristband and Bowl One of ramen. Diners are required to show a staff member their empty bowl before grabbing the next—and of course, no sharing is allowed. Folks who eat five bowls or more will win a $25 gift card and will be entered in a draw to win a noodle-making class for four. The Furious Spoon record is six bowls.

And if you need any advice on how to approach the challenge, let these words from chef Shin guide you. “The proper way is to slurp the noodles furiously so that the noodles and other ingredients do not overcook in the hot broth.”
