Breaking down Lollapalooza 2017

Lollapalooza runs August 3-6 in Chicago’s Grant Park. The global festival’s Chicago stop is highly anticipated for not only its music, but also its food and total experience. We broke down the weekend in full to prepare.

Music

The weekend is jam packed with star power and lesser known talent. Thursday kicks off with Lorde and Muse, Friday keeps rolling with The Killers and Blink 182, and Saturday is bound to be at (or over) capacity as Chicago-native Chance the Rapper takes to the stage. Arcade Fire anchors the lineup and closes the weekend on the heels of their latest album release, Everything Now.

Even the non-headliners are well-known names, from Charlie XCX and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness to Arizona and Migos. The weekend even features Aftershows at venues across Chicago featuring tons of great acts.

Food

Chow Town, Lollapalooza’s food area, will feature tons of incredible food vendors this year. Grab some Harold’s Chicken or Kuma’s Burgers in between sets and end your night with an original Rainbow Cone.

Experience

The Rock & Rollers tent will premiere this year, which will feature a roller-skating rink, a bar, and arcade all in one. You can stop by the FYF Music Tent to meet your favorite bands or stop by the Mix’d up Cocktail Bar or the Cupcake Vineyard’s Uncorked Wine Lounge. The full scope events can be found here.
