The Museum of Broken Relationships hosts Date Night

Los Angeles’ Museum of Broken Relationships opened earlier this year, and curates an archive of items from past heartbreaks.

Modeled after the original museum in Zagrab, Croatia founded by Olinka Vistica and Drazen Grubisic, the museum takes donations from couples who have broken up, of various items that are poignant reminders of their former partners. Instead of throwing out the hurt, these things are the showpieces of a brick and mortar space in Hollywood, complete with the story of its owners and details of the relationship without ever attaching real names.

'The dislocation of a broken relationship may be isolating, but the experience is universal. No one is alone in this.'

This month, the Museum teams up with We Like L.A. to host a Date Night, perhaps the most counter-intuitive programming combination of all time. Guests will enjoy the exhibits as well as food trucks, a DJ, raffles, and a cash bar. So if you’re in the mood to find new love while exploring extinct relationships, discover more here.

And if you’ve recently had your heart broken, you can donate the remnants here.
