Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, and The Rolling Stones rock the desert

Roll the clock back during Palm Springs’ definitive classic rock festival.

The space which also hosts the Coachella Valley and Stagecoach Festivals in the Spring kicks off with the inaugural Desert Trip this year. Not too many festivals can get away with a lineup of just six artists, but then again most lineups don’t include The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Roger Waters, and The Who. As Billboard Magazine stated, “Desert Trip is clearly poised to be the live music event of the year.”

In tandem with the music festival, there’s also an Outstanding in the Field dinner. The four-course prix fixe open air dinner experience includes master chef-prepared meals, wine pairings, craft beers, and cocktails. Previous chefs have included Michael Mina, Marcus Samuelsson, Michael Voltaggio, Jason Neroni, Chris Oh, Dominique Ansel, and Ilan Hall.

Attendees can camp at the grounds by bringing their own tent, car or RV camping, or reserving one of the provided tents or tepees. Or better yet, pair that with a relaxing spa weekend, courtesy of Two Bunch Palms so you can dance, drink, sweat, and then detox at the mineral hot springs.

Let’s revisit some of the best hits from the bands of the festival with two and a half hours of pure, classic rock – with just at touch of Kanye and Rihanna thrown in.
