Every year, The New York Times rounds up its favorite getaways into a massive and stunning list.
This year’s 52 Places to Go in 2017 is no exception, as the Times assembled its essential picks into a beautiful site that blends suggestions of activities with gorgeous videos and stills from some of the furthest reaches of the world.
The list begins on a massive scale, with the number one pick of Canada – yes, the whole country. The NYT notes that Canada’s “more than 200 national parks and historic sites are offering free admission through the year” and the exchange rate works in the favor of American travelers, not to mention the ease of access. The second pick gets into the more exotic territories with the world’s highest desert in Atacama, Chile, an “otherworldly landscape of wind-carved dunes and kaleidoscopic salt lakes.”
The full list can be found here and includes everywhere from Zermatt, Switzerland to Tijuana, Mexico to Marrakesh, Morocco to Osaka, Japan to the Maldives, and so many more.
