The Journal Group has officially opened Ambassador Chicago, the historic property in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. The Journal Group has restored the hotel’s original name and set its sights on restoring the historic beauty of the property.

Steve Brandman, CEO of Journal Hotels, told the Chicago Tribune that the group’s goal is to “reinforce the beauty of the hotel” as they begin managing Ambassador, their first Chicago property.

The hotel has played host to the who’s who of the 20th and 21st centuries after opening in 1926. From Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor, to Frank Sinatra and David Bowie, the building is full of star studded history.
