To round out 2017, Time Out published a tell-all list of LA’s best bars. Amongst the “undeniably phenomenal drinks” being served around the city was a specific shout out to Spare Room‘s beverage director Yael Vengroff and her two-year-in-the-making Salt & Vinegar Martini.
The cocktail bar scene in LA is a tasty mix of bespoke libations made with farmers’ market-fresh ingredients and stand-out classics worthy of the likes of Don Draper. Since the Spare Room opened at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in 2011, the swanky hotel bar from Med Abrous and Marc Rose with two lanes of bowling inside, has stood out.
Vengroff’s drink du jour is her Salt & Vinegar Martini made with potato vodka, dry vermouth, pickle brine, celery shrub and a side of potato chips. It took Vengroff two years to perfect and Time Out writes, “it takes two sips to realize how utterly unique the cocktail truly is.”
Spare Room is open nightly 8pm β 2am, but closed Tuesdays.
